About the Role:

Are you a WebSphere expert with experience in enterprise-class systems? We are seeking a Technical Specialist 4 (TS4) with expertise in administering WebSphere Application Server systems and deploying applications in multi-tier, multi-platform enterprise environments. This role focuses on cloud integration, system scalability, troubleshooting, and collaborating with IT management to drive innovative solutions. Your experience with WebSphere administration, cloud platforms, and middleware services will be critical to the success of this position.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated stress-testing frameworks to ensure system performance.

• Troubleshoot application and system issues, providing technical guidance to development teams.

• Consult with IT management and staff on emerging technologies and scalability solutions.

• Administer WebSphere Application Server, including upgrades, patches, and security configurations.

• Deploy and manage applications in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud environments.

• Work with containers, microservices, and Kubernetes to enhance system performance.

• Install, configure, and deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX and Linux platforms.

• Write and deploy shell scripts to automate system tasks and improve operational efficiency.

• Manage SSL certificates and application security in WebSphere.

• Monitor application performance and implement solutions to address issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.

• Provide consultation and support for middleware services and application development.

• Advocate for innovative technology solutions and improvements to IT processes.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant IT experience in enterprise environments.

• 8+ years of WebSphere administration experience.

• 2+ years of experience with cloud product administration (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

• 5+ years of experience administering application security products.

• 5+ years of experience with integration platforms (e.g., Salesforce, MuleSoft).

• Proven expertise in CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

• Strong knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

• Familiarity with disaster recovery processes, single sign-on, and cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor).

• Advanced troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years of experience working with government agencies.

• Experience providing senior-level technical consulting to IT management and staff.

• 3+ years of providing guidance on emerging technologies to IT teams.
